PFLAG San Francisco, the San Francisco Chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, Inc., has been meeting consistently since 1976. Attendees includes lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning persons as well as parents, allies and friends. The volunteer members inspire all the regular activities and special projects of the chapter and are central to chapter leadership. The chapter works cooperatively with the other chapters in the Bay Area and Northern California. We regularly participate in PFLAG national conventions and in other national activities.
We invite you to share your experience and concerns in a completely confidential and supportive environment. We encourage lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people, parents, family and friends to attend our meetings. Everyone is welcome.
Meetings
Our regular monthly meetings are held on the second Sunday of each month from 2-4 pm, in the St. Francis Lutheran Church Parish Hall, 152 Church Street near Market. Our meeting is wheelchair accessible and is located on the N-Judah, j-Church or 22- Fillmore Muni lines. Enter the Parish Hall through the Plaza Gate. The monthly Board meeting is open to all on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 - call 415-921-6902 for directions.
With prior notice, one of our members can facilitate discussion in Spanish during our regular meeting. Please call our help line at 415-921-8850, Box 4. For Asian and Pacific Islander concerns, API Family Pride can help with various languages and materials.

In addition to our regular monthly meetings we are active in the community in many ways.
- We host one of the largest and best received contingents in the annual San Francisco Pride Parade.
- We maintain a booth at the Pride celebration in Civic Center. We host information booths and tables at many street fairs and community celebrations.
- We have information booths at major educational conferences at Moscone Center.
- We produce a monthly program “PFLAG Talk” on Cable Access Channel 29.
- We provide speakers for schools, churches and civic groups.
- Individual members participate in elder groups, school district task forces, arts organizations and other educational and advocacy organizations.

Tony Moraga, the General Manager of the GGBA (Golden Gate Business Association), will be our guest. There are good stories to be told about the influence of the Association in promoting the visibility of the gay community over the years and Tony will tell some of them. PFLAG SF is a non-profit member and receives all the announcements of activities - the GGBA is very busy!
