Together with Pride – Since 1977

For nearly five decades, PFLAG San Francisco has marched, advocated, and celebrated alongside our LGBTQ+ community. Pride is more than a parade — it’s an expression of love, visibility, and our mission to create a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.

Our Pride Story

Since our founding in 1977, PFLAG San Francisco has been part of Pride in every form — from protest marches to joyous celebrations. Our members have carried signs of love through the streets, stood with families in times of loss, and built bridges of understanding across generations.

Through the AIDS crisis, through fights for marriage equality, and through today’s movement to protect and affirm trans youth, we’ve shown that love never stands still. Each June, we return to Market Street to honor our past, stand up for our future, and remind the world what community looks like in action.

From the early days of protest and grief to today’s celebrations of resilience and joy, our march has always been about one thing: standing proudly with our LGBTQ+ loved ones.

Join Us at Pride

Every June, PFLAG San Francisco gathers to march together in solidarity and celebration. Whether it’s your first Pride or your fiftieth, we welcome you to join our family of families.

Every year, we walk for love — and for the promise that every family can stand proud in the streets of San Francisco.

If you have photos from any year, we’d love to include them in our digital archive. Email them to support@pflagsf.org. Please include the year (or best estimate) and any names or short captions you’d like to share.
